Science ocassionally can produce some amazing and humbling images of our universe. Probably the most famous image was The Blue Marble taken by the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft, at a distance of about 45,000 kilometres. It transformed how we view our Earth showing it as a unique and fragile planet in the middle of hostile space. Many consider this image to be one of the stimuly that started the eco movement in the 70's. Since then we have seen many amazing visualizations. My favorites are showing the brain's neural connections, the phylogenetic tree of life and the latest is a humbling video from NASA with a fiery looping rain on the sun.
